Room Integrity Testing Enclosures protected by gaseous fire suppression systems should tested for air-tightness upon commissioning of the system and annually thereafter. This is critical to ensure that the system will work effectively when activated; too much air-leakage will result in the concentration of the fire suppressant agent falling too quickly. Typical Preventative Maintenance for Waterless Suppression System Novec 1230 System – Semi-Annual Inspection Inspection will be performed in accordance with NFPA 2001, of the following, as applicable: 1. Check positioning of all nozzles. 2. Check for visible signs of deterioration. 3. Check all system hoses visually for damage. 4. Check agent quantity and pressure of all cylinders. 5. Check for shut down on all equipment. 6. Test operation of manual release. 7. Test operation of all automatic detector. 8. Test operation of remote manual release. 9. Clear all nozzles. 10. Re-seal all safety pins. 11. Re-seal all manual releases. 12. Re-activate systems - safety pins removed. 13. Insure personnel have been instructed on operation of system. 14. Document cylinder date and serial number. 15. Check Fire Alarm for proper Operation Including - Sequence of Operation - Actuation Devices - Alarm Devices - Delay Devices - Audible Devices - Visual Devices - Equipment Shutdown - Other related functions 16. Supply complete Inspection Reports and Comments. |
